Tyler Shields is an American photographer, screenwriter, director, and former professional skater who has earned the nickname of “Hollywood’s favorite photographer.” He was born on April 29, 1982 in Jacksonville, FL and began his career as a professional inline skater, competing in the 1999 and 2000 X Games and touring with Tony Hawk in 2003. He eventually began posting his photographs online, and credits Fraser Kee Scott of A Gallery with discovering his work. Shield’s images often incorporate violence, such as his 2011 photograph of Lindsay Lohan depicting the celebrity as bloodied and brandishing a knife, and his shot of the actress Heather Morris with a bruised eye. The photographer has created campaigns for brands including Nike, Adidas, Playboy, Harley Davidson, and Gergé Swiss watches, and in 2013, published a book of his work titled The Dirty Side of Glamour. In 2015, he made his directorial debut with Final Girl, an action horror film. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
